Staff Geoscientist – Environmental

Landmark Environmental, Inc. seeks a full-time, staff-level geoscientist to support Project Managers with subsurface investigations, ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and reporting.  This position will offer a wide variety of assignments, rapid growth in both technical and business responsibility and direct working relationships with top professionals in a high-performing and entrepreneurial business that also cares for our team.


  • BS degree in geology or geologic engineering
  • 2 – 4 years of related experience, preferably in environmental consulting
  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training and 8-hour refresher
  • Working knowledge of ASTM Standard for Phase I ESAs
  • Certified Asbestos Building Inspector desirable but not a requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to interact with subcontractors, regulators and clients during field activities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude to learn new software
  • Basic understanding of applicable environmental regulatory programs
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record


  • Demonstrated field experience with direct push and hollow-stem auger environmental drilling
  • Geologic logging and preparation of report quality lithologic logs
  • Monitoring well installation
  • Collection of soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis
  • ASTM Phase I ESA field reconnaissance, research and report writing
  • Completion of letter reports and specific sections for major reports
  • Development of appropriate health & safety plans for basic field investigations
