Title: A Crash Course in Migratory Birds & the Regulations That Protect Them

Speaker: Tim Merino, Biologist

Date/Time: May 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm

Abstract:

Over 100 years ago, two Boston socialites, Harriet Hemenway and Minna Hall, set in motion a movement that would eventually come to protect 1000’s of species of birds. Their efforts established what is known today as the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. This webinar will provide listeners with information on migratory birds; the history of bird conservation; survey methods; and how environmental professionals ensure project compliance with U.S. federal regulations including the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and Endangered Species Act.  Migratory Birds and the Regulations That Protect Them
