RMSS-AWMA Lunch – Air Monitoring Regulation Update – 5/26

Please join RMSS-AWMA for our their next lunch meeting, where they will hear from Gordon Pierce of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Air Pollution Control Division.

The meeting will be held in-person at the City and County of Denver office building (201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202) from 11:30AM-1PM, on Thursday, May 26th.

Gordon Pierce, Supervisor of the CDPHE’s Technical Services Program, will provide an overview of some of the more recent regulations and legislation in Colorado that have affected air monitoring, as well as what will be coming soon. He will also provide a more detailed overview of the Regulation #7 monitoring requirements, and will provide a summary of the air monitoring resources that the Air Pollution Control Division has.


Gordon Pierce has worked for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Air Pollution Control Division, since 1987 and currently supervises the Technical Services Program, which covers ambient air monitoring, quality assurance, modeling, prescribed fire and forecasting. During this time, at CDPHE, he has worked on a variety of air monitoring projects and is involved with a number of different groups, including the Western States Air Resources Council, the Western Regional Air Partnership, the NACAA National Air Monitoring Steering Committee and the IMPROVE Steering Committee.
