Narrated and featuring Woody Harrelson, Kiss the Ground is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis. The documentary sheds light on a “new, old approach” to farming called regenerative agriculture, a practice with the extraordinary ability to balance our climate and feed the world.

Panelists:

William Burnidge is the Deputy Director of the Nature Conservancy’s (TNC’s) North America Sustainability Grazing Lands Strategy.  He leads piloting and communicating improved ranch management frameworks and tools and supports the program’s policy, science, and supply chain strategies.  He also helps lead TNC’s work with the US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, a range of sustainable sourcing projects with supply chain partners, and TNC’s internal ranch and grassland conservation learning networks.

Roy Pfalzgraff operates Pfalzgraff Farms in Haxtun, Colorado, a family farm dedicated to regenerative practices and increasing soil health.  Since taking over operation of the farm several years ago, Roy changed crops from a standard three-grain mix to a diverse mix including legumes, grains, flax, and oil sunflowers.  The farm markets flour from their grains and also produces honey and other bee products.

Helen D. Silver is a principal at Ground Up Consulting, LLC, which helps clients develop community-driven policies and programs around soil health and working lands.  Ground Up Consulting clients include Colorado State University, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and the University of Wyoming.  Helen facilitated the passage of Colorado’s Soil Heath bill and the development of Colorado’s soil stewardship certification program, and helps manage the Colorado Soil Health Program.
