CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: THE 2021 CEMS FALL CONFERENCE

2021 Theme: Colorado’s Evolving Regulatory Landscape

Tuesday September 14th at the Butterfly Pavilion, Westminster

THE CEMS FALL CONFERENCE IS BACK! After the 2020 shutdown, we are returning better than ever with a new, exciting venue; an appropriately wide-ranging conference theme; and renewed outreach to all corners of our great state. Submit an abstract and consider being a speaker!

CEMS is seeking thought-provoking presenters that can constructively and critically examine past, present, and anticipated future environmental regulations in the State, and their implications on industry, commerce, agriculture, public health, and other areas of interest.

We are seeking presenters from diverse areas of experience, including industrial, commercial, agricultural; regulatory (Federal, State, and local), legal, science and engineering.

Suggested topics include:

General Conference Themes

·     Perspectives on how environmental regulations have changed over time and where they appear to be headed in the future

·     Relative effectiveness, recent successes, and remaining challenges in the regulatory and legal realms

·     How do perspectives on regulatory successes differ

·     Balancing the needs of industrial, agricultural, commercial, recreational, ecological and public health interests

Air

·         Air quality regulations, monitoring, and compliance

·         Owner audits and reporting

Water

·         Water Supply and Infrastructure

·         Water Rights and Uses

·         Water Quality Protection

Ecology

·         Habitat Protections

·         Implications of science on policy development

Changing Conditions

·         Population Growth

·         Drought and Climate

·         Wildfire
