2014 Scholarship Recipients

Each year, the Society provides three scholarships for collegiate candidates with
studies focused in the environmental science, engineering, or law arenas.

The annual scholarship coordination, including development and distribution of the scholarship
application, is lead by the Scholarship Committee. Typically, the annual scholarship
application is distributed in the November and applications are due in February of the
following year. The applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and
recommendations on scholarship awards are presented to the Board for approval in
February. A notice of the scholarship awards are made to the recipients and
presented in the monthly newsletter for notice to the members.

CEMS received many applications for scholarships this year. We are pleased to offer scholarships to each of the following students:

· Tyler Dougherty – Concurrent BS/MS Candidate in Environmental Engineering, CU Boulder
· Micah Johnson – 1st Year MS Candidate in Environmental Engineering, CU Boulder
· Ashley Novander - 3rd Year Law student from University of Denver, Sturm College of Law

The links below are each winner's application essays. Winners will be at upcoming CEMS luncheons to receive their checks.

Students are required to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Colorado university or college. Students must be studying engineering, geology, environmental sciences, law, or another field in which they may address environmental issues, and must intend to work in an environmental field.
